Blog: The First Year

Our first year was a trying one, to say the least. We left our home of 18 years, where we'd been married and raised our first child. We were leaving while I was 8 months pregnant and when we moved into our trailer, we would spend our first week full time living at Doheny State Beach on what was usually our annual family camping trip. We had a baby, had some adventures, and struggled with learning curves. We saw amazing things while we adjusted to living in a small space and being together all the time. To say the least, our first year was an experience.

I was keeping our blog on another site at the time, but I've linked each entry below with a brief recap to keep it all in one place. Click the image for each post below to be linked to its original location. Enjoy!

"The Post I Wasn't Going to Write"

SATURDAY, NOV. 12, 2016

I had hesitated from putting our story to words, but the truth of it all lies in our loss of innocence, politically. A bill and its passage into law forever changed me and our course for the future.

"Effervescence"

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2016

Evelyn makes friends and spreads light everywhere we go. We truly meet most people we do and have experiences we do because of her. One new friend described her as being "effervescent". This entry is dedicated to our little effervescent Evelyn.

"Day to Day Details"

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2016

When I talk to someone about our experiences, they ask questions that it feels like I would have entered in an entry somewhere but haven't. I get to where I'm so busy trying to cover the new things we're seeing that I forget to describe the basics-- our day to day life and how we make it work. How we are doing, not just what we're seeing.  So, here it is: our day to day, our life on the road.
